Teen in stable condition after truck strikes tree

A teenager was flown to a Nashville hospital after hitting a tree Friday night on Antioch Church Road.

Christian County Sheriff’s Major Jason Newby says a deputy clocked two vehicles that appeared to be racing on the 1682 Bypass traveling approximately 90 mph.

When he turned around and activated his emergency equipment, the 17-year old male and the driver of the other vehicle had turned onto Greenville Road and then Antioch Church Road.

The 17-year old wrecked out almost immediately, according to Major Newby, who says he hit a tree and was ejected from his pickup.

He was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he was listed in stable condition.

The other driver fled the scene and was not located.
