The Hopkinsville Recycling program has had resurgence in recent weeks, with the service passing it’s sign-up goal by the end of 2022.
The year ended with 1,022 new sign-ups for the recycling program, which means you’re probably seeing more red bins than ever throughout the city, and officials are hoping for even more as they head into the new year. Coordinator Mandy Guffey says recycling helps not just the environment in numerous ways, but also helps the city economically.
Recycling Supervisor Chris Powell reminded on what items can be recycled and urged people to make sure they’re rinsing out jugs and removing Styrofoam packaging from boxes.
It’s $5.50 a month for the recycling service, and businesses can also take part, not just residential. For more information about the program, give them a call at (270) 887-6244.
