The Christian County Health Department reported six COVID deaths Thursday, along with a record 1,000 new cases in the last week.
Five of the six deaths were unvaccinated and were identified as a 56-year-old female, a 56-year old male, a 91-year old female, a 68-year old male and a 64-year old female. One victim, a 78-year old male, is listed as not fully vaccinated.
There were 1,000 new COVID-19 cases since January 6, putting the overall total at 13,746 since the pandemic began locally—of that, 1,486 cases are currently considered active and 12,095 people have recovered from the virus.
