The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is touting that several important milestones have already been met in the region’s Charged and Ready initiative
According to a news release, some of those milestones include local utility providers and TVA creating a strategic plan for the electric highway network in South Western Kentucky by identifying several sites suitable for fast charge stations for Electric Vehicles and the EDC launching a marketing web page dedicated to the region’s advantages as related to electric vehicles.
Executive Director Carter Hendricks says, “Our region is within 300 miles from several recently announced electric vehicle projects including the Ford/SK project and more recent news from Rivian. We anticipate even more opportunities and look forward to helping electric vehicle related companies and auto parts suppliers take full advantage of our geography, strong workforce, available sites, aggressive incentives, and our outstanding quality of life in a less taxing, more relaxing environment.”
