College Football

The Louisville Cardinals are going through final preparations today ahead of their appearance in the Armed Forces Bowl tomorrow afternoon against Air Force. Air Force is 9-3 and Louisville is 6-5.

The Georgia Bulldogs are in Miami ahead of their College Football Playoff appearance against Michigan New Year’s Eve in the Orange Bowl. During a media availability today, players said they are fully aware of taking the necessary precautions to avoid a COVID outbreak on the team. Three bowl games have already been canceled due to COVID issues.

College Basketball

Kentucky is 18th while Tennessee is 14th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Baylor is number one followed by Duke, Purdue, Gonzaga and UCLA in the top five.

Murray State’s Tevin Brown was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for the third straight week today. Brown had a game high 22 points in the Racers loss last week at Auburn. Murray State opens OVC play Thursday night hosting Southeast Missouri.

Former University Heights standout and Morehead State graduate transfer Tray Hollowell was named the OVC’s Newcomer of the Week. Hollowell had a game high 17 points against IUPUI last week. The Eagles open OVC play Wednesday night against Eastern Illinois.
