A man died Saturday morning after he was shot in the parking lot of the Valero gas station on East Ninth Street in Hopkinsville and a named suspect is sought.
Christian County Deputy Coroner Christy Adams identified the victim as 31-year old Delmour Moncrief. His last known city of residence was Malden, Missouri.
The incident happened a little before 9 am at the gas station formerly known as Scott’s Market. Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Mike Atkins says two black males had been in some type of altercation with Moncrief outside of the store when one of them shot him in the stomach. Moncrief was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
HPD is asking for the public’s help to locate 26-year old David Rashawn King, who is sought on a murder charge in the incident.
He and an unknown light-skinned black male fled the scene in a red Toyota Solara.
Anyone with information on the suspects should call ECC at 270-890-1300.
