Some rain, normal temperatures for first week of Spring

The area can expect some rain this first full week of spring, but nothing too heavy according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin says it’s looking like a pretty peaceful week weather wise, with some rain events taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday night into Thursday, but he’s not expecting any significant rainfall, though that could change if any thunderstorms develop.

He says there’s not threat of severe weather to develop at this time, and then the area looks set to have another beautiful weekend come Saturday.

He says temperatures will be at or a little below average for the coming weeks.

Shanklin says this level of rain fall and sunny periods will be good for the region, giving it more opportunities to dry out before the next heavy rain comes through—cooler temperatures could also help limit the possibility of severe weather as well.
