Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear gave an update on COVID-19 in the state, reporting 1,914 new cases and 49 new deaths.
The positivity rate has decreased once again, now a 7.5 percent, with Governor Beshear saying, “We are still seeing far too many deaths, but this decreased positivity rate is a really hopeful leading indicator. We have come so far in our fight against this virus – now, we need to hang on until we reach the finish line.”
The 49 new reported deaths puts the overall total in the Commonwealth at 4,175. There have been 383,032 cases in total in the state since the pandemic began, with Kentucky administering approximately 4.2 million coronavirus tests.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 2,947 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, along with 100 new deaths—that puts the death toll in the Volunteer State at 10,731.
