Former University Heights standout KyKy Tandy played three minutes and did not score as Xavier defeated Butler 68-55. Xavier played its first game since January 11th in improving to 11-2 overall. The Musketeers return to action Wednesday afternoon hosting DePaul.

Kentucky reports 2,649 new COVID cases, 46 deaths Saturday

Governor Andy Beshear reported 2,649 new confirmed coronavirus cases in Kentucky Saturday and 46 more deaths. Kentucky’s pandemic death toll now stands at 3,714. The governor says 1,415 Kentuckians are in the hospital with the virus, 362 are in the ICU and 185 are on a ventilator. The positivity rate was at 8.82 percent Saturday, up slightly from Friday. Clarksville-Montgomery County Seventh through 12th grades returning to in-person learning Feb. 8

Seventh through 12th graders in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System will return to in-person instruction on Monday, February 8. A news release says although staffing issues and the substitute teacher shortage are expected to continue during the pandemic, COVID-19 related leave has continued to decrease as Clarksville-Montgomery County's numbers continue to improve. Trigg County has 88 active COVID cases

There are 88 active cases of COVID-19 in Trigg County, according to the end of week report from the Pennyrile District Health Department. Eleven new cases were reported Friday and officials say 84 of the active cases are at home and four are in a hospital. Trigg County has had eight coronavirus fatalities. At least 886 of 982 total cases have recovered.

Clarksville man hospitalized after single-car crash

A Clarksville man went to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident Friday night on Fort Campbell Boulevard. A collision report from Hopkinsville police says 27-year old Ernesto Echevarria of Clarksville was southbound near Harvey Way when his car went off the left side of the road and struck several sign posts before coming to rest on a culvert. He was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for evaluation.

HPD: Stolen truck used to break into ATM Saturday morning

Hopkinsville police are investigating after a stolen truck was used to break into a Planters Bank ATM on Fort Campbell Boulevard early Saturday morning. Officers responded to a phone-in alarm for the ATM about 4:45 a.m. and determined someone had used a chain attached to the rear of a truck to bust into the machine and they took an unknown amount of cash. Kentucky’s positivity rate falls for 11th consecutive day

Kentucky’s positivity rate declined for an 11th consecutive day Friday as Governor Andy Beshear announced 2,608 new cases of COVID-19 and 57 more deaths. The positivity rate fell to 8.75 percent, 1,505 Kentuckians are in the hospital, 355 are in the ICU and 199 are on a ventilator. Three western Kentucky counties—Lyon, Crittenden and Carlisle—are now orange instead of red on the state incidence rate map.
