Murray State opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a convincing 87-57 win over Austin Peay last night at the CFSB Center. The Racers had four players in double figures led by Tevin Brown with 19 points and Chico Carter, Jr. with 17. Austin Peay had three players in double figure scoring led by preseason OVC Player of the Year Terry Taylor with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Racers coach Matt McMahon says the win was gratifying:
Murray State improved to 3-1 and will play at Southern Illinois Friday night. Austin Peay fell to 3-2 and welcomes McKendree College next Monday night.
