Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation have chosen who will flip the switch on the now virtual 2020 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to take place next Friday.
Seven-year old Sylas Luxmore of Pembroke was nominated by his mother, Casey Carroll, who says her son was diagnosed with leukemia —a form of cancer that attacks the blood and bones—earlier in the year after being very sick last Christmas. She says Christmas is his favorite holiday and this will really make this year very special.
The Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled to take place December 11 at 6 p.m. via Facebook live.
