14-year-old injured in Clarksville crash expected to recover
Arraignment was held Wednesday afternoon in Todd Circuit Court for the Hopkinsville man charged with murder for a July 29 crash that killed a woman on Blue and Gray Park Road.
Judge Joe Hendricks accepted a not guilty plea from public defender David Graff on behalf of 42-year old Billy Jo Faughn of Hopkinsville to charges of murder, aggravated DUI and possession of marijuana and Graff says he’ll be filing a bond reduction motion.
Kentucky State Police investigated the crash and allege Faughn traveled 402 feet after leaving Blue and Gray Park Road before striking 71-year old Sarah “Janie” Barrow and pushing her through the wall of her garage.
Barrow later died at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Police say Faughn performed poorly on field sobriety tests and it’s believed he was under the influence of narcotics. Excessive speed was also listed as a factor in the crash.
Graff says he’s still waiting on bloodwork evidence and any audio or video recordings from the evening of the incident.
Judge Hendricks scheduled a pre-trial conference for November 18.
