NFL’s Washington Redskins are no more

Washington’s NFL franchise will no longer be known as the Redskins. The team announced today that it will drop the Redskins name and Indian head logo effective immediately. It’s unclear when a new name will be picked, as copyrights are pending. The name had been with the team since it was in Boston back in 1935.
