Spring sports have been canceled at Ruff Park due to concerns about COVID-19.
Michael Finch with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Youth League appeared on WHOP Wednesday and says board members decided it was the right course of action to go ahead and cancel the season after action by Governor Andy Beshear Tuesday.
Like everyone, Finch hopes the world will be a better place this summer and that sports will be able to resume at Ruff Park.
Finch believes all of the park facilities that were damaged by severe weather in January will be repaired and ready to go this summer and there could even be additional improvements. Officials are working on how to refund fees that have already been paid by families for the spring season.
