Additional details have been released on the vehicle versus horse and buggy accident from Saturday afternoon on Butler Road.
As previously reported, it happened about 5:40 p.m. approximately a half-mile east of Overby Lane.
A pickup driven by 29-year old Justin Jones of Butler Road was headed west and Jones told deputies the glare from the setting sun hindered his vision. He rear-ended a horse and buggy occupied by Alvin and Walter Shirk of Butler Road, who were both taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The horse had to be put down due to the extent of its injuries.
