The Hopkinsville Police Department investigated a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday evening on Lafayette Road that sent a Hopkinsville man to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
According to the police report, officers responded to the intersection of Lafayette Road and Stone Valley Drive for reports of a collision. Investigation determined that a vehicle driven by 65-year old Wilbur Cook of Hopkinsville had been heading southbound on Lafayette when he attempted to turn onto Stone Valley and missed the turn due to being unable to see because of rain.
The vehicle came to stop in the ditch on the west side of the roadway. EMS described Cook as being dazed and confused, possibly having a diabetic emergency. He was transported to Jennie Stuart for complaints of neck pain.
