14-year-old injured in Clarksville crash expected to recover
A Hopkinsville man who allegedly engaged in sexual activity with teenage girls after providing them with alcohol was arrested Thursday night.
Hopkinsville police served the warrant for first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree rape, one count of first-degree sodomy and two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor against 41-year old Earl Caldwell of Hopkinsville.
It alleges that Caldwell arranged to meet a 17-year old female and a 16-year old female at the Rodeway Inn on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Police say the intent of the meeting was to engage in sexual activity in exchange for money and that he provided both girls with alcohol.
The warrant specifies that the two counts of third-degree rape come from the 16-year old juvenile consenting to sex two times in exchange for money.
Police say the 17-year old victim was physically helpless due to intoxication and was incapable of giving consent to any form of sexual activity and the offenses against her are classified as first-degree rape and sodomy.
Caldwell was lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
