Death penalty remains a possibility in double murder case

The death penalty will remain on the table in the murder case of Jeremy Demar, who is accused of shooting two Fort Campbell soldiers to death in 2017.

Demar appeared in Christian Circuit Court Thursday, where his attorney entered a motion to have the death penalty removed as a possibility from the case.  According to court officials, that request was denied and the death penalty remains an option.  Trial is currently set to take place June 22, 2020 following a recent continuance.

Demar allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife, Priscilla East, and Christopher Hoch at a home on Arkansas Avenue in Oak Grove in February of 2017. He is charged with two counts of murder, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and attempted murder.
