Several local high school marching bands had good performances over the weekend and brought home honors to prove it.
Christian County High School’s Colonel Band was named Grand Champion at the Russellville High School “Show of Bands” Competition Saturday. The Colonel Band also received first place, best color guard and best percussion in Class 4A—according to Band Director Anthony Darnall.
The Colonel Band will be traveling to the Band Between the Lakes Invitational in Dover, Tennessee Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Hopkinsville High School Band took first place in Class 4A at the Union City, Tennessee Invitational Saturday and was the Reserve Grand Champion. They also won best color guard, best music and best effect.
The Todd County Central High School Marching Rebel Band traveled to Ohio County and took second place in their class and won the overall spirit award.
