Favorable weather helped make the Trail of Tears Native American Pow Wow over the weekend a success.
Hopkinsville City Councilman Jimmy Dossett is the president of the Trail of Tears Commission and says they were happy with the turnout as a whole.
He notes all proceeds from the Pow Wow go back into maintaining the park on East Ninth Street in Hopkinsville.
Last year’s Leadership class took on improvements to the park as its project and Dossett says their efforts were noticed.
The local Pow Wow is one of the larger events of its kind in the country and preparations are already gearing up for next year’s event.
