The City of Hopkinsville is launching a citizen’s academy known as the Hopkinsville Diplomat program and is asking those interested in seeing how city government operates to sign up.
Appearing on WHOP News Friday morning, Mayor Carter Hendricks says the program is modeled similarly to a police department’s citizen academy, only this will focus on local government and how it works for the people.
He says this first class will be limited to 15 people, so he encourages people to sign up while they can by going online Hopkinsville-ky dot u-s slash diplomat.
The program will be held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. beginning in October and will run through March. The application deadline is August 30, 2 at 4:30 p.m. and applications must be completed in their entirety.
For more information on the program, call the Hopkinsville Municipal Center at 270-890-0210.
