Elsewhere in the National League: Anthony Rendon ripped a tiebreaking grand slam in the sixth inning to lift the Washington Nationals to a 6-3 win over the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have lost eight of their last 12 games. Game two is tonight at Nationals Park.
Following an off day, the St. Louis Cardinals welcome the Chicago Cubs to Busch Stadium this evening. The teams are tied for the lead in the NL Central.
