Fifteen students will be graduating from the Challenge House AT&T Teen Enrichment program with a certificate and $200 to show for their weeks of hard work and commitment.
Organizer Michelle Wilson says the students went through a week of ‘boot camp’—where they learn skills such as how to fill out an application, do an interview and more—followed by another week of job shadowing.
The graduation for this first session will be Friday at 5 p.m. at Challenge House #1 on Central Avenue.
The AT&T program has two sessions, and the second one is set to begin on July 8, with Wilson saying they are still accepting applications from those interested in participating.
Wilson says the program goes along with the Challenge House mission of getting more people into the workforce and out of the system with a hand up instead of a handout. For more information about the program and how to sign up, call 270-886-8887.
