Sunny weather and the feeling of Christmas in the air got hundreds of people to downtown Hopkinsville for Small Business Saturday.
At the farmer’s market people got tote bags full of coupons and other goodies from local businesses across Hopkinsville. Christian County Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Events Coordinator Kirstie Darnall says the weather resulted in a great turnout.
She says while they encourage people to shop local every day, this event is really showcases how important it is to get out and support small businesses in the community.
The Christian County High School Choir sang Christmas carols throughout the day and attendees could decorate cookies, get their faces painted and vote for their favorite small business. All proceeds from that contest went to support the United Way of the Pennyrile.
