A fugitive sought on felony warrants was able to elude capture by police earlier this week, but Hopkinsville Police located and arrested him Friday night.
Officers stopped a car occupied by 29-year old Matthew Bowles and 24-year old Amanda Blacksmith of Hopkinsville on the ramp to the Pennyrile Parkway from US 68 Friday night and served Bowles with warrants for fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, flagrant non-support, being a fugitive from another state and for failing to appear in court.
His latest charges come after an officer fell and had to be treated at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a sprained knee and elbow following a foot pursuit involving Bowles on Wednesday.
Blacksmith was arrested for hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say it’s the second time this week she’s been arrested for assisting Bowles attempt to avoid capture.
