NatureFest draws in large crowds

It was beautiful day for the 2018 NatureFest at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center Saturday afternoon as hundreds of people filled the park.

There were over 40 different activities and booths for participants to take part in and organizer Charles Turner says the day is all about introducing children to nature, when they might not normally get the chance to experience it.

He says festival-goers got to learn about animals, the planet and how people can impact the world around them.

Over 600 people took part in various activities, including pumpkin painting, canoeing, a tire race, archery, a soil tunnel, beekeeping and many more. That was along with a slew of animals to meet, including goats, horses and even owls.
