Hopkinsville Community College was recently ranked as 24 out of 715 community colleges across the nation and second in Kentucky in the “Best Community Colleges” list by WalletHub.
According to a news release, HCC tied with Columbia-Greene Community College for the 24 spot on the ‘Best Community College in the U.S.’ list and ranked second in the state of Kentucky. WalletHub reviewed the 715 community colleges that are members of the American Association of Community Colleges.
It ranked them based on cost and financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes using 17 measurements that applied to those categories. The data ranges from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to student-faculty ratio to graduation rate.
HCC President Dr. Alissa Young says, “This type of national survey brings to light the importance and value of community colleges overall. At HCC, we know the incredible value of our education and training, but we want everyone to know. We want our community members to know that they can get a life-changing education at a great value right here in their own backyard.”
