Charges are pending against a Russellville man following a single-vehicle accident Friday morning on US 68 in Todd County.
Sheriff Tracy White investigated the incident that happened just west of Old Quarry Road and says 23-year old Alexis Salazar of Russellville had been westbound at an estimated 100 mph when he lost control, crossed the eastbound lanes and went down an embankment.
His car overturned several times before coming to rest in a field.
No one was near the car when police arrived, but Salazar was later located walking in the area of US 68 and Williams Hill Road.
He reportedly said he was walking around because he didn’t know where he was at and taken to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the incident and charges are pending against Salazar.
Sheriff White says Elkton Police Captain Jason Clardy, Todd County EMS and the Todd County Rescue Squad assisted.
