A Hopkinsville man was arrested early Saturday morning for DUI and possession of synthetic drugs following a traffic stop on East First Street.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers observed 32-year old Montreal Kendrick of Hopkinsville allegedly not come to a complete stop at a stop sign at Younglove Street. A traffic stop was initiated and Kendrick allegedly had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on his person.
When told to exit the vehicle, he allegedly refused and had to be physically removed from it. A taser was deployed when he reportedly resisted being put into handcuffs. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie containing synthetic marijuana under the driver’s seat.
He was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of synthetic drugs, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal littering, disregarding a stop sign and failure to wear seatbelts.
