Two Trenton men accused of stealing wood off a barn in Todd County were arrested in Lewisburg.
The Russellville News Democrat Leader quotes a Logan County Sheriff’s Department report that says deputies received word Friday that two men were attempting to sell the stolen wood at a location on Lewisburg.
A pickup pulling a trailer loaded with the stolen wood was stopped by Deputy Kyler Harvey and the two occupants—39-year hold Phillip Alan Johnson and 42-year old Matthew Shane Morris of Trenton—allegedly admitted to stealing the wood off a barn earlier in the week.
Both were charged with felony receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Johnson is additionally charged with methamphetamine possession and trafficking.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft in Todd County.
