14-year-old injured in Clarksville crash expected to recover

A Hopkinsville woman was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and a Cadiz man for failing to comply with the sex offender registry following an investigation by Hopkinsville Police early Friday morning.
Someone called ECC about 1:10 a.m. saying 27-year old Janessa Raines of Hopkinsville had left her 18-month old child at home alone. Officers responded to the residence and saw the child inside unattended.
They found Raines at The Bait Shop on West Seventh Street having drinks with 28-year old Tailer Smith of Cadiz, who is a registered sex offender. Investigation determined the pair had been at Raines’ home and left the child there alone when they went to the bar.
Raines was arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor and Smith for not notifying the state when he moved to his current residence in Cadiz.
