Jameson Taillon pitched a gem for the Pittsburgh Pirates as they blanked the Cincinnati Reds 5-0 at PNC Park. Taillon tossed a complete game one-hitter and struck out seven.
Meanwhile, Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez has a broken thumb. The injury happened when Suarez was hit by a pitch from Taillon during the fourth inning yesterday. He’s heading back to Cincinnati for further examination.
