Law enforcement in Tennessee has released details on the chain of events that led to accused cop killer James Decoursey being shot to death early Friday morning near Exit 4 on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Spokesman Josh DeVine spoke to WHOP News at the scene and said officers were in the area looking for Decoursey and a tip from the public helped them locate him.
DeVine says the impact of the murder of Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham is being felt across the region.
He says diligence of the investigating officers and help from the public led to Decoursey being located.
Wilma Rudolph Boulevard remains closed between Oakland Road and I-24 as detectives process the scene.
