A wreck involving two tractor-trailers early Saturday morning on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County injured one of the drivers.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department investigated and says 45-year old Walter Sharp of Flowery Branch, Georgia was attempting to make a u-turn near the 103 mile-marker about 3:30 a.m. when he became stuck in the snow.
Approaching southbound was 68-year old James Light of Saint Thomas, Pennsylvania, who did not see Sharp’s trailer stopped in his travel lane and collided with the driver’s side. Police say Sharp did not use any markers or flashing lights to indicate his trailer was stopped on the interstate.
Light was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
