Fire destroyed a Marshall County Road Department storage building and the equipment inside early Friday morning.
Marshall County Road Department Superintendent Wendy Greer told WPSD TV Local 6 that trucks and equipment they use for snow-clearing purposes were destroyed.
She says they’ll use pickup trucks and other means to plow roads if there is another snow, but the fire certainly hurt their capabilities.
US 68 was closed near the entrance to Mike Miller Park just west of the Purchase Parkway interchange in Draffenville while crews battled the blaze.
No one was injured in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
