Many back roads and side streets and even some main roads are still covered with snow and ice, prompting dozens of church closings in the area.
A dispatcher at Hopkinsville-Christian County ECC reported no weather-related accidents overnight, but motorists are still urged to slow down and use abundant caution if they are getting out today.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet trucks are back out after working another 16-hour day yesterday. Spokesman Keith Todd says they were helped in their melting and plowing efforts by sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-20’s.
Another chance of snow will move in Monday evening and night, when up to an inch could accumulate in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties and up to two inches to the north.
Extreme cold will also settle back in, bringing wind chills below zero on Monday night and Tuesday night.
