Finding a parking place wasn’t easy at the Hopkinsville Recreation Department on Thomas Street Saturday morning, as dozens of people gathered to celebrate living a healthier life at the conclusion of another 100 Mile Challenge.
Amanda Bassingthwaite with the Christian County Health Department says the idea behind the challenge is to get people moving and thinking about how to be more active.
She says the miles add up faster than you would expect with your everyday walking combined with a little extra effort.
Commonwealth’s Attorney-Elect Rick Boling logged the most miles at just over 920, Diane Warneke tallied just under 600 miles, Therease Brounaugh came in third at 560 and Jason Wathen was on the upper end of the scoreboard at 525 miles.
