A Hopkinsville man was indicted on charges of first-degree arson and first-degree wanton endangerment by a Christian County Grand Jury Friday.
The indictment against 52-year old Jerome Catlett of Hopkinsville alleges that on May 31, he intentionally poured gasoline on the porch of 7B Moores Drive and set it on fire. The fire was quickly put out, but a resident had gasoline on her person as well. There were nine people in the home at the time, six of which were children.
Catlett reportedly fled into a wood line between Hayes and Howell Streets, where he was located allegedly with a lighter in his possession and covered in gasoline.
Catlett is charged with four counts of first-degree arson and nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
