The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the theft of a dog and other items from a Canton Street home.
According to the police report, a suspect—who is redacted on the report—entered the residence in the 1700 block of Canton Street while the resident was asleep and took a laptop computer valued over $400, a backpack and a dog, described as a chihuahua.
The incident is being investigated as theft by unlawful taking.
