The National Weather Service in Paducah says the warm and dry weather is on its way out, as heavy rain and cooler temperatures move in for the weekend.
Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms will bring locally heavy rain to the area, particularly Saturday evening into Sunday morning. The National Weather Service says much of the area will see one to two inches of rain, with the highest totals in western Kentucky near the Tennessee border.
The potential for isolated flooding does exist, in the usual low lying and poor drainage areas. Temperatures could also fall into the low-to-mid 40’s.
