Rotary Scholarship program growing, continues to help students

The Rotary Scholars program, headed up by the local Rotary Club, has helped many students on their quest for education, and it only continues to be a success.

Jeremy Calico is the Rotary Scholar coordinator at Hopkinsville Community College and spoke to the Rotary club recently, saying they benefit more students than they probably realize.  He says since 2012, the program has welcomed over 800 rotary scholars.

The majority of the scholars seem to come from Christian County High School, followed by Heritage Christian Academy, Hopkinsville High School and then University Heights Academy.  Calico says the proof of success is in the numbers—the amount of scholars leaving with diplomas continues to grow.

He says Rotary has devoted so much effort, including monetarily, to the students of HCC.
