Public library staff member receives scholarship to Public Library Association Conference

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Library is celebrating having one of their own chosen to receive a scholarship to attend the 2020 Public Library Association Conference in Nashville.

According to a news release, Youth Services Librarian Jennifer Annis-Domenech was awarded one of 8 scholarships to attend the conference, which is intended to provide educational experiences for attendees and raise awareness through new and innovative learning opportunities.

Annis-Domenech began at HCCPL in September as the Youth Services Librarian. She was required to complete a short essay on how the PLA Conference would help her in her role as Youth Services Librarian and how she would share the information obtained with her fellow staff members.

She says, “I’m excited about attending the PLA Conference and learning more about different aspects of public libraries from across the country. I look forward to sharing the information with the rest of the HCCPL staff. I’m grateful that the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives chose me for this scholarship. It’s a wonderful opportunity.”
