A man was taken to the hospital following a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in a parking lot on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Julie Hyams of Hopkinsville was parked at the Dollar Tree, and she attempted to back out of the parking space. At the same moment, 88-year-old Johnnie Chandler of Hopkinsville was walking through the parking lot, behind the vehicle.
Hyams reportedly did not see Chandler, and struck him with the rear of her car, knocking him to the ground.
Chandler was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his shoulder, arm and hand.
