Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 45-year-old Angela Burton for drug trafficking after she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine on Saturday.
According to a report, an officer on patrol witnessed Burton laying in the road on East 16th Street. The officer approached Burton to ask about her well-being and in response she reportedly said she was having sciatic nerve pain.
EMS was called to the scene, but Burton allegedly refused to be checked out. The officer then checked her pupils and they reportedly did not react to a flashlight. As a result of her demeanor the officer arrested Burton and while searching her, they allegedly found a crack pipe and a jar containing over two grams of methamphetamine.
Burton was charged with public intoxication, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
