A man is facing a first-degree assault charge after a physical altercation happened between brothers on Dusty Lane Saturday night.
According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to the 3400 block of Dusty Lane around 8:45 p.m. for reports of a fight in progress and upon arrival, found a male victim, identified as Michael Mitchell, laying on the ground with injuries. A witness told officers that during the fight, the victim was either thrown or pushed from a porch, causing injuries to his back.
The victim’s brother, 39-year-old Matthew Mitchell of Hopkinsville, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
