The Todd County School District held a ribbon cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the grand opening of “The Corner Store” at Todd Central High School.
Thanks to a grant through the Kentucky Department of Education, The Corner Store will act as a learning experience for students on building job skills, so they have a successful transition into the workforce after high school or college.
Students will assist in making items to sell, stocking shelves and help customers—the store will open throughout the school day, and will offer snacks and school spirit themed items. The Corner Store accepts only cash at this current time.
It will be managed by Employment Specialist Marla Gillespie and Transition Specialist Mandy Shemwell.
