Rutherford’s 18 Kills Surge No. 15 Kentucky Past LSU

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Reagan Rutherford recorded 18 kills Sunday afternoon along with five digs and three blocks as the No. 15 Kentucky Volleyball team surged past LSU 3-0 (25-21, 32-30, 25-17) in three sets to close the books on the opening Southeastern Conference series of the season.

No. 2 Cardinals Sweep Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In just her second start of the season, outside hitter Nena Mbonu had 10 kills, hitting .565, to lead the No. 2-ranked University of Louisville to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 sweep of Florida State in Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball action Sunday in Tully Gym.

No. 24 Hilltoppers Sweep Blue Raiders, 3-0

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The No. 24 Hilltoppers notched a road win in Murfreesboro against the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee, 3-0, in Conference USA action.

Racers Not Enough for Missouri State

Murray State volleyball fall to Missouri State on a hard-fought five-set match at Racer Arena, Saturday. The Racers took the first lead, taking the first dominantly 25 to 18. Both teams refused to let go of the second set. Missouri State was able to grab the set after a seesaw set that went through four deuces. After losing the third set, the Racers were able to take the fourth to force a fifth set. The Bears was able to edge the win in the final set.

Kentucky Drops Sunday Matinee vs. RV/18 Tennessee

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s soccer found itself on the short end of a 4-1 score line on Sunday afternoon as the Cats (7-4-0, 0-3-0 SEC) were defeated by preseason SEC favorite, RV/18 Tennessee (6-3-1, 2-1-0 SEC) at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. Senior Hannah Richardson picked up UK’s only goal, while goalkeeper Tallulah Miller made a career-high seven saves in the contest.

Kentucky Earns First Road Win at Georgia State

ATLANTA – The No. 5 Kentucky men’s soccer team (6-0-2, 1-0-1 Sun Belt) defeated RV Georgia State (6-1-1, 1-1-0 Sun Belt) 5-1 at the GSU Soccer Complex on Saturday. For the first time since 2019, the Wildcats scored five goals in 90 minutes of regulation. The last time this occurred was at home against Wright State. However, it was the first time scoring five goals on the road since doing so in 2014 at Evansville.

Cardinals Fall Short Against No. 2 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Louisville women’s soccer team (4-3-2, 1-2-0) played its second straight road contest against a ranked opponent as the Cards fell 2-0 against No. 2 Virginia, Sunday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.

Lady Toppers Fall 1-0 to North Texas

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Soccer (4-5-2, 1-2-0 C-USA) dropped a 1-0 decision to North Texas (7-4-1, 3-1-0 C-USA) on Sunday afternoon at the WKU Soccer Complex.

Sheet of the Season in Draw with Evansville

Led by senior goalkeeper Jenna Villacres, Murray State women’s soccer collected their first shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw at Evansville on Sunday afternoon in Evansville, Indiana. The clean sheet is the Racers first since October 24, 2021 when they defeated Austin Peay 1-0.

Govs tame Lions for first ASUN victory

FLORENCE, Ala. – Marli Niederhauser, Ellie Dreas and Tori Case found the back of the net for Austin Peay State University’s soccer team as the Governors picked up their first-ever ASUN Conference win in a 3-1 victory against North Alabama, Sunday, at Bill Jones Athletic Complex. Austin Peay (3-5-3, 1-2 ASUN) used a season-best 10 shots on goal on 13 attempts to pick up its inaugural ASUN win against North Alabama (3-4-5).  Eight Govs registered shots in the win, including a team-best three by Alec Baumgardt.

Red and White Scrimmage Tickets On Sale Monday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men’s basketball team will host its annual Red and White intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center. Tickets, priced at $10 each for lower level seating, will go on sale Monday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. online at Ticketmaster.com.

Cards Secure Fall Exhibition Victory over Purdue

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program picked up a 18-6 victory over Purdue in the fall exhibition game Sunday at Jim Patterson Stadium. The win wraps up the fall exhibition season for the Cardinals, who also downed Miami (Ohio) last weekend.
