Some parts of the region could see rounds of heavy rain Tuesday into Wednesday, but where exactly that rain will fall is still to be determined.
At the moment, it looks most likely to fall over parts of Indiana and Illinois, but depending on how the system sets up, parts of western Kentucky could get some of that rain as well—that’s according to National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Weilgos.
She says thanks to recent rainfall, many areas are finally moving out of the high and moderate drought status they were in, but we could use a little more rain. There is not currently a risk of severe weather this week, as Wielgos says Wednesday through Friday should stay dry before the chance for rain comes back this weekend.
Temperatures are likely to stay fairly moderate this week—in the low to mid 80’s during the week, with lower dew points than recent weeks.
