The Fill the Bus campaign is underway for Todd County Schools and there’s still time to donate before students return to their school buildings on August 10.
Community Education Director Katrena Smith says they’re accepting both monetary donations and physical items, and the Family Resource Centers in the schools are asking for their most requested items—paper, pencils, notebooks, hand sanitizer and more.
She says those supplies are available for any student who needs them, and not just to start the school year but throughout the year. Smith will be in downtown Trenton on August 5 and August 6 accepting donations, and citizens who donate to the cause will receive coupons they can then use at those businesses.
She says this the sixth year they’ve had this campaign, and the community as a whole has always been extremely generous in making sure their students have the supplies they need to be the best students they can be.
Donations have been coming in already and Smith says they can be dropped off at the Board of Education at 205 Airport Road in Elkton. For more information, call 270-265-2436.
