Clifty man indicted for allegedly running over man with car

The Clifty man accused of running over another man with a car in March has been indicted by a Todd County Grand Jury.

A true bill for first-degree assault was returned against 44-year old Johnny Dukes of Clifty.

As previously reported, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office says Joshua Liggons walked to Dukes’ driveway just before 11 a.m. on March 3 to ask for a ride to Hopkinsville for a job interview and that Dukes then intentionally ran him over with his Volkswagen Beetle.

Dukes fled the scene on Heltsley Lane toward Greenville Road and was arrested later in the afternoon.

Liggons was able to walk back to his mother’s home, but sustained a broken collar bone, in addition to multiple scrapes and lacerations and was taken by EMS to Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
